Let's face it...not everyone appreciates quadraphonics like us. In fact most people don't even know what a quadraphonic is! To complicate this, many of us that do understand multi-channel sound might not know a thing about computers. This is where I come in. Let's say that you have a special quad LP that you would love to have on CD, but don't want to go through the hassle of making your computer "vinyl friendly." For a reasonable price, I can clean it, record it, and cut it to a CD-R for you. Prices start at around $10.00 (plus shipping) per single album and can vary depending on what needs to be done to it.

Do you have any SQ, QS or CD-4 albums laying around or even some Quad reels but you don't have a decent decoder or a deck to play them on. I can convert them over to DTS Surround! If you have an SQ album that you would like decoded into a DTS encoded CD through my Tate 101a processor, not a problem! If you have some QS albums, I can run that through a modified QSD-2 decoder in a Sansui QRX-7001. If you have a CD-4 album that you just got to hear again, I can run it through my Marantz CD-400 demodulator with a CD-4 cartridge. Results can vary depending on the condition of the carrier signal, but it can be turned into DTS Surround. I have to say however that Quad reels are the best source. To play these DTS discs, you must have a CD/DVD player with a digital output feeding a DTS decoder. The machine must be capable of reading CD-R's. Most CD players are, but some DVD players (especially Sonys) aren't. The cost is around $35.00 per conversion (again, it depends on the condition of the LP). Oh yeah, the Pink Floyd stuff really does sound great in quad!
****NOTE***
Some people are converting quadraphonic material into Dolby Digital AC-3 and even selling them. Remember, only DTS surround is truly compatible for music. Many decoders cannot play an AC-3 encoded music disc. I tried that route at first, and the results were not very reliable.
